A Research In Germany Found That Looking Good Can Make You Succeed

Beauty is better than brains
The age-old conundrum of looks vs. smarts has been resolved. As it turns out, attractiveness could be more important. A new study by Leuphana Universitat Luneburg in Germany has found that promotions, job perks and even salaries are tied to attractiveness – and, believe it or not, even more so for men than for women.
Researchers examined 3,000 people regarding their careers while noting their attractiveness. Their looks were evaluated on a scale of 1 to 11. The results showed that being one point above average on that scale improved employment by a rate of 3%, while a five-point difference, which is basically going from ordinary-looking to straight-up sexy, has about the same effect on careers as having a university degree.
While the first thing that comes to mind with a study like this is that this is great news for the ditzy, big-boobed blond bombshell secretary at your workplace, but scientists suggest that the takeaway should be first impressions. The hypothesis is that good-looking people tend to make better first impressions because they are hot, comfortable socially and nicer.
So there you have it: Beauty can match brains when it comes to careers.
